The marine biology program at Central Campus is widely acclaimed by leading scientists and scientific publications.

The Career & Technical Institute at Central Campus is home to some of the state’s and nation’s most unique educational opportunities for high school students in the fields of agricultural and environmental studies.

Despite being in an urban setting, the Animal Science and Horticulture program is one of the largest of its kind in Iowa with an active Future Farmers of America chapter. The program has its own teaching and learning facilty, with a large greenhouse and animal barn, on the south side of Des Moines.

The Iowa Energy & Sustainability Academy both teaches and practices issues relating to alternative energy, conservation, recycling and more. The IESA program is a reason that Central Campus was one of the first educational programs recognized as a “Green Ribbon School” by the U.S. Department of Education.

Even though in middle America, Central Campus offers one of the most acclaimed high school Marine Biology programs in the country, with a major aquarium facility and regular field trips. The program has been recognized by leading scientists and scientific publications for its excellent facilties and curriculum.
